Vaikuntam Sisters-Mamatha & Sumathi

The Story of Vaikuntam Silk House

Mamatha, a Software Engineer, and her sister Sumathi, an Engineering College professor, always found themselves drawn to the elegance of handloom sarees. They admired how each region of India had its own unique weaving techniques, colors, and motifs, carrying centuries of tradition within every thread. For them, a saree was never just a garment—it was a story woven with tradition, artistry, and love.

On one memorable trip to a handloom cluster, they were captivated by the sheer dedication of the weavers. They watched women artisans skillfully move their hands across looms, creating magic in threads, yet living with uncertainty and struggling to find fair value for their craft. This experience deeply moved them and sparked a mission: to bridge the gap between weavers and customers.

Together, they started a brand ‘Vaikuntam Silk House” with a simple but powerful vision:

To Contribute to India’s handloom heritage

To support artisans and empower women weavers

To connect customers with authentic, sustainable sarees at fair prices

Their company Vaikuntam Silk House became a bridge—bringing together artisans and saree lovers. Every saree they offered carried not just beauty but also dignity, sustainability, and the promise of ethical craftsmanship.

For Mamatha and Sumathi, this was more than a business. It was their way of weaving dreams, reviving traditions, and celebrating the timeless charm of handloom sarees.

“Inspired by India’s handloom heritage, driven by sustainability—our Sarees celebrate Weavers, especially Women artisans and Sarees to Customers at Ethically Reasonable Prices.”
